Event Registration
Users may register for the AAP Annual Meeting and specialty conferences via a secure online form protected by data encryption. Users provide information such as name and address and financial information such as credit card number and expiration date. This information is used for billing purposes and for enrollment in seminars and special events. If there is trouble processing a registration, this contact information may be used to get in touch with the user.

Charitable Donations
Users have an opportunity to make charitable donations to the AAP Foundation via a secure online form protected by data encryption. Users provide information such as name and address and financial information such as credit card number and expiration date if making a gift. The donor is asked to provide the name he or she wishes to appear in recognition announcements and is given the option of remaining anonymous. Financial information is used for billing purposes. If there is trouble processing a donation, information may be used to get in touch with the user.

Surveys
From time-to-time information is requested via surveys. Participation in surveys is voluntary and the user has a choice whether or not to disclose information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and e-mail address) and demographic information (such as gender and age). Users have the option of completing the survey without providing this information. Survey information is used for purposes of monitoring oral health trends or improving the use and effectiveness of this site.

The only usage of cookies on the AAP Web site is to deliver personalized Home Page links to AAP members who request this service, thereby facilitating navigation to often visited pages. Outside companies are used to process Annual Meeting registrations and ship orders that are placed online. These companies are instructed neither to retain, share, store nor use personally identifiable information for other purposes.

The Academy also protects user-information off-line. User information is restricted to the AAP central office.

The AAP sends its members periodic site and service update announcements. Members may request the removal of their names from the member e-mail list.
