The Academy offers its members a wide array of assistance related to insurance reimbursement and third-party issues, which includes the AAP’s Comprehensive Periodontal Insurance Workshops. The first dental and medical coding AAP Virtual Insurance Workshops of the year took place in March, but if you happened to miss out on them or want to learn more there’s still time. The AAP's final virtual insurance workshops of the year will take place this August.
On Aug. 2, the Dental Coding Workshop will educate attendees about dental coding relevant to a periodontal practice. Content is intended for staff new to coding and/or reimbursement for periodontal procedures or seasoned employees that need a refresher. This course will identify the typical procedure codes submitted in conjunction with treatment provided by the periodontist. Participants will receive a workbook full of relevant information.
Then, on Aug. 9, the Medical Coding Workshop will focus on submission of dental procedures to medical insurance. There will be an overview of CPT (medical procedure and ICD-10-CM (diagnosis codes), related to periodontal procedures submitted to medical insurance. Attendees will also receive a workbook full of relevant information.
Additionally, you can save when you register for both workshops.
